An Unlikely Passion

Hello, I'm Eric. Born and raised in California. I have a background in mechanical engineering but no formal art education. Unless you count martial arts? I poured my soul into competitive martial arts for twenty years. Then work got too busy, and I got old(er). Pottery never crossed my mind until I turned thirty.

A Casual Thought

Work had been stressful. I traveled to Asia often, to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China, working with designers, engineers, and manufacturers. Drained after the long days away from home, I would seek out relaxing spaces to unwind over the weekends. More and more, I found myself in local cafes and tea houses. One fateful day, in a place I can't recall, I perused its assortment of ceramic cups and thought to myself, "I could make something like this."
